The actor came to promote the TV show PUSHING DAISIES, on the Warner Channel, and will extend his trip to go to Bahia

SÃO PAULO - Lee Pace, the main star of PUSHING DAISIES, on air April,10, is in Brazil.

He arrived last Wednesday to give an interview to the Brazilian press. Pace had plane tickets scheduled to go to Bahia. This is the second time the actor has come to Brazil. The first time, he went to Rio and loved it. Now, he went out for a ‘Sao Paulo’ night and said good things about the restaurants. On thrusday, when the “Estado” talked with Pace, he was planning on going out to a club.

Before the interview, the actor said some words in Portuguese: "Oi. Tudo bem? Obrigada. Tchau", and that was all he tried, laughing. Pace is the legitimate Ned, character that he plays on Pushing Daisies. He speaks in a low voice, has a shy attitude and is very polite. He even helped a reporter to arrange a table to put the recorder on. “People here are nice and sympathetic”, he said.

The show was acclaimed by the critics when it premiered in the US, but it had a medium audience. Lee explained that the numbers are good for the 8 PM time slot. “People who turn on the TV at that hour are there to watch Pushing Daisies”, said the actor who didn´t expected the huge positive reaction.

The show is about Ned, a young man with the power of bring to life dead people with his touch. The problem is that, if he touches the person again, he/she dies again, forever. Ned uses his power to bring back someone he loves, and now he can´t touch her. “I don´t know what I would do if I was Ned”, the actor said.

Because of the writers strike, the show has only nine episodes in thier first year. They star filming the second season in July, but it will be on the air in Brazil in 2009.
